26TH JULY KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS.MY HEARFELT TRIBUTE TO ALL THE HEROES,

As our country gets ready to celebrate the 17th Kargil Vijay Diwas on Tuesday, I express my heartfelt gratitude and tribute to all kargil heros.

Kargil War was an armed conflict between India and neighbour Pakistan that took place between May and July 1999 in the district of Kashmir and elsewhere along LOC. In India, the conflict is also referred to as Operation Vijay, which got its name to clear the Kargil sector. on July 26, 1999, the Indian Armed Forces won a gritty and decisive war against Pakistan. In the ferocious battle, many brave young soldiers laid down their lives defending their nation on the inhospitable battlefield of Kargil.

It’s been seventeen years since then, but the unparalleled bravery and sacrifice of Kargil brave hearts are still etched in the collective memory of the country. 

I salute the Indian soldiers who lost their lives serving for the nation. 60 Days, Operation Vijay. I was in school during the Kargil War. I remember how every family shared the pain of the soldiers. We prayed for them & felt proud of being an Indian. To the soldiers & their families, you are the real heroes of India . JaiHind!
