SEE GOOD IN EVERYTHING

Always look to the good side of men and matters. Even when you come across people who are rude to you, feel that god has provided you with an opportunity for strengthening your mind through their behaviour. Always see what is good in others in order to develop that particular good quality in yourself.See no evil. But if you happen to notice any, see that evil does not come to you. God created both good and evil in this world for us to learn. From the good we learn to be good and from the evil we learn to be free from evil. Therefore, both good and evil are really good only.Make others happy as you strive to make yourself happy. Speak a helpful world. Give a cheering smile. Wipe the tears of one who is in distress. Render smooth a rough place on another’s path. Regard your neighbor’s happiness as your own happiness, and your neighbour’s pain as your pain.
While creating the world, Almighty has taken care to balance good with evil and vice versa, meaning to say, both aspects exist in equal quantities, though ‘goodness’ is prominently projected.

Sometimes, we do not understand this. We get perturbed when somebody to whom we have not done any harm, harms us for no reason, or may be a selfish reason. We get disturbed thinking “Why such a thing has happened to me, when I have not done any harm to anybody?”. Resultantly, we lose our peace of mind.

There is good and evil equally in this world. We may have to face both in some form or the other, every other moment, from once source or the other. We should accept his fact without bothering about the source, and not let such matters affect our peace of mind.

PUPPIES FOR SALE

A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell. A little boy approached him and said “I want to buy one of your puppies.” “Well,” said the farmer, “These puppies cost a good deal of money.” The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer. “I’ve got thirty-nine Rupees. Is that enough to take a look?”

“Sure,” said the farmer. And with that he let out a whistle, “Here, Dolly!” he called.

Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran Dolly followed by four little balls of fur. As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse.

Slowly another little ball appeared, this one noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward manner the little pup began hobbling towards the other, doing its best to catch up… “I want that one,” the little boy said, pointing to the smallest one. The farmer said, “Son, you don’t want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would”. The little boy stepped back and began rolling up one leg of his trousers. In doing so, he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe. Looking back up at the farmer, he said, “You see, Sir, I don’t run too well myself, and he will need someone who understands.” The world is full of people who need someone who understands.

THE WOODEN BOWL

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and a four-year old grandson. The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered. The family ate together nightly at the dinner table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and failing sight made eating rather difficult. Food rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass often milk spilled on the tablecloth. The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess. So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner. There, grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner at the dinner table. Since grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl. Sometimes when the family glanced in grandfather's direction, he had a tear in his eye as he ate alone.
One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly, "What are you making?" Just as sweetly, the boy responded, "Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and mama to eat your food from when I grow up." The four-year-old smiled and went back to work. The words so struck the parents that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done. That evening the husband took grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table. For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.

FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND

Last night I had a dream. I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonged to me, the other to the Lord. After the last scene of my life flashed before me, I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life, especially at the very lowest and saddest times, there was only one set of footprints. This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
“Lord, you said once I decided to follow you, You’d walk with me all the way. But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life, there was only one set of footprints.
I don’t understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me.” The Lord replied, “My son, my precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of suffering, when you could see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.”

DAD'S GIFT

A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.
As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his graduation, his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautifully wrapped gift box. Curious, but somewhat disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man's name embossed in gold. Angry, he raised his voice to his father and said "With all your money, you give me a Bible?" and stormed out of the house, leaving the Bible.
Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had not seen his father since that graduation day. One day, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart. He began to search through his father's important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. And as he did, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible. It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words PAID IN FULL.
How many times do we miss Spirit's blessings and answers to our prayers because they do not arrive exactly as we have expected?

Really the story is heart touching, and am unable to stop my scrolling tears.sometimes in our life it happens like that, a contraversy between knowing and understanding. But one has to remember that understanding and adjustment plays a major role in our life. One moment of patience ward off a great disaster, one moment of impatience may ruin a whole life, which cannot be recalled. Every person has to remember that understanding is a shortest distance between two people. If we did not understand the situation/thing/people also no problem, but should never misunderstand any one, (may be our relative, friend, stranger or any other). we may know the person well, but we may not understand them, but one has to remember that there is a great difference between knowing and understanding. So in the present life of our's, understanding nature along with adjustment nature must be there for all, and always pray the almighty to give the boon of understanding nature along with adjustment nature.

SAND AND STONE

A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand: "TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE."

They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one, who had been slapped, got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him. After the friend recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone: "TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE."

The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?" The other friend replied: "When someone hurts us, we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it."

TO GROW UP IN LIFE

Two poor friends from a small village met at a local tea shop and decided to do something to become rich. The first friend suggested, “Purchase a buffalo and start selling milk. After some time, it shall have calves and the animals will get multiplied. After reaching some stability, open a dairy farm and progressively start export of milk products.”

The second friend liked the idea. With the decision to start the business, both parted. After few years, the second friend who was driving his own car saw his old friend standing at the same old tea shop. He stopped his car and came to his old friend. The first friend was still in the pathetic condition.

He asked, “How could you become so rich?” The second friend answered, “It were you who gave me the idea of milk business and today I have a flourishing export business of milk products. But why are you the same poor man? What happened to you? Didn’t you start milk business?”

The first friend answered, “That day, I went home and explained the idea to my wife. After listening patiently to my plan, my wife asked me a simple question, “WHAT IF THE BUFFALO DIES?”

Moral of the Story: In order to grow up in life, one needs to take calculated risks at various points. The more the risks one dares to take, the more experience he gains, the more successful he becomes.

“Without your involvement, you cannot succeed. Without your involvement, you cannot fail” - Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.

THE POWER OF A PRAYER

Smita, a young university student, was home for the summer. She had gone to visit some friends one evening. Time passed quickly and she ended up staying longer than planned, and had to walk home alone. She wasn’t afraid because it was a small town and she lived only a few blocks away. As she walked along under the tall elm trees, Smitha asked “God” to keep her safe from harm and danger. When she reached the alley, which was a short cut to her house, she decided to take it. However, halfway down the alley she noticed a man standing at the end as though he was waiting for her.

She became uneasy and began to pray, asking the “God’s” protection. Instantly, a comforting feeling of security wrapped around her and she felt as through someone was walking with her. When she reached the end of the alley, she walked right past the man and arrived home safely.

The next day, she read in newspaper that a young girl was attacked in the same alley just 20 minutes after she had been there.
Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that she could have been her, she began to weep. Thanking the Lord for her safety and to help this young woman, she decided to go to the police station. She felt she could recognized the man, so she told them her story.
The police asked her if she would be willing to look at a lineup to see if she could identify him. She agreed and immediately pointed out the man she had seen in the alley the night before. When the man was told he had been identified, he immediately broke down and confessed. The officer thanked Smita for her bravery and asked if there was anything they could do for her.
She asked if they would ask the man one question. Smita was curious as to why he had not attacked her.
When the policeman asked him, he answered, “Because she was not alone. She had two tall men walking on either side of her.

”Never underestimate the power of prayer!

TO LOVE AND TO BE LOVED IS THE GREATEST HAPPINESS

A nice story that I have come across in recent times.... Life is too short, Try to make it as sweet as possible... :-)...
Keep smiling... Life will smile upon you...
A kindergarten teacher has decided to let her class play a game. The teacher told each child in the class to bring along a plastic bag containing a few potatoes. Each potato will be given a name of a person that the child hates, so the number of potatoes that a child will put in his/her plastic bag will depend on the number of people he/she hates. So when the day came, every child brought some potatoes with the name of the people he/she hated. Some had 2 potatoes; some 3 while some up to 5 potatoes. The teacher then told the children to carry with them the potatoes in the plastic bag wherever they go for 1 week.Days after days passed by, and the children started to complain due to the unpleasant smell let out by the rotten potatoes. Besides, those having 5 potatoes also had to carry heavier bags. After 1 week, the children were relieved because the game had finally ended. The teacher asked: "How did you feel while carrying the potatoes with you for 1 week?" The children let out their frustrations and started complaining of the trouble that they had to go through having to carry the heavy and smelly potatoes wherever they go.Then the teacher told them the hidden meaning behind the game.
The teacher said: "This is exactly the situation when you carry your hatred for somebody inside your heart. The stench of hatred will contaminate your heart and you will carry it with you wherever you go. If you cannot tolerate the smell of rotten potatoes for just 1 week, can you imagine what is it like to have the stench of hatred in your heart for your lifetime???
Moral of the story:Throw away any hatred for anyone from your heart so that you will not carry sins for a lifetime. Forgiving others is the best attitude to take! Life is to be fortified by many friendships.
To love & to be loved is the greatest happiness.
Fate determines who comes into our lives.
The heart determines who stays………………….

CAN YOU BE A PENCIL?

A boy was watching his grandmother write a letter. At one point, he asked: ‘Are you writing a story about what we’ve done? Is it a story about me?’His grandmother stopped writing her letter and said to her grandson: ‘I am writing about you, actually, but more important than the words is the pencil I’m using. I hope you will be like this pencil when you grow up.’Intrigued, the boy looked at the pencil. It didn’t seem very special. ‘But it’s just like any other pencil I’ve ever seen!’'That depends on how you look at things. It has five qualities, which, if you manage to hang on to them, will make you a person who is always at peace with the world.

‘First quality: you are capable of great things, but you must never forget that there is a hand guiding your steps. We call that hand God, and He always guides us according to His will.

‘Second quality: now and then, I have to stop writing and use a sharpener. That makes the pencil suffer a little, but afterwards, he’s much sharper. So you, too, must learn to bear certain pains and sorrows, because they will make you a better person.

‘Third quality: the pencil always allows us to use an eraser to rub out any mistakes. This means that correcting something we did is not necessarily a bad thing; it helps to keep us on the road to justice.

‘Fourth quality: what really matters in a pencil is not its wooden exterior, but the graphite inside. So always pay attention to what is happening inside you.

'Finally, the pencil’s fifth quality: it always leaves a mark. In just the same way, you should know that everything you do in life will leave a mark, so try to be conscious of that in your every action.’
- From Paulo Coelho's 'Like a Flowing river'

Allow this parable on the pencil to encourage you to know that you are a special person and only you can fulfill the purpose to which you were born to accomplish.

Never allow yourself to get discouraged and think that your life is insignificant.

NO POINTING FINGERS

A man asked his father-in-law, 'Many people praised you for a successful marriage. Could you please share with me your secret?'

The father-in-law answered in a smile, 'Never criticize your wife for her shortcomings or when she does something wrong. Always bear in mind that because of her shortcomings and weaknesses, she could not find a better husband than you.' We all look forward to being loved and respected. Many people are afraid of losing face. Generally, when a person makes a mistake, he would look around to find a scapegoat to point the finger at. This is the start of a war. We should always remember that when we point one finger at a person, the other four fingers are pointing at ourselves. If we forgive the others, others will ignore our mistake too.

CREATING A PERFECT RELATIONSHIP?

A person visited the government matchmaker for marriage, SDU, and requested 'I am looking for a spouse. Please help me to find a suitable one.' The SDU officer said, 'Your requirements, please..' 'Oh, good looking, polite, humorous, sporty, knowledgeable, good in singing and dancing. Willing to accompany me the whole day at home during my leisure hour, if I don't go out. Telling me interesting stories when I need companion for conversation and be silent when I want to rest.' The officer listened carefully and replied, 'I understand you need television.

' There is a saying that a perfect match can only be found between a blind wife and a deaf husband, because the blind wife cannot see the faults of the husband and the deaf husband cannot hear the nagging of the wife. Many couples are blind and deaf at the courting stage and dream of perpetual perfect relationship. Unfortunately, when the excitement of love wears off, they wake up and discover that marriage is not a bed of roses. The nightmare begins.

PERSONAL PERCEPTION

Different people have different perception. One man's meat could be another man's poison. A couple bought a donkey from the market. On the way home, a boy commented, 'Very stupid. Why neither of them ride on the donkey? 'Upon hearing that, the husband let the wife ride on the donkey. He walked besides them. Later, an old man saw it and commented, 'The husband is the head of family. How can the wife ride on the donkey while the husband is on foot?' Hearing this, the wife quickly got down and let the husband ride on the donkey.

Further on the way home, they met an old Lady. She commented, 'How can the man ride on the donkey but let the wife walk. He is no gentleman.'The husband thus quickly asked the wife to join him on the donkey. Then, they met a young man. He commented, 'Poor donkey, how can you hold up the weight of two persons. They are cruel to you.' Hearing that, the husband and wife immediately climbed down from the donkey and carried it on their shoulders.

It seems to be the only choice left. Later, on a narrow bridge, the donkey was frightened and struggled. They lost their balance and fell into the river. You can never have everyone praise you, nor will everyone condemn you. Never in the past, not at present, and never will be in the future.
Thus, do not be too bothered by others words if our conscience is clear.

RIGHT SPEECH

There is a Chinese saying which carries the meaning that 'a speech will either prosper or ruin a nation.' Many relationships break off because of wrong speech. When a couple is too close with each other, we always forget mutual respect and courtesy. We may say anything without considering if it would hurt the other party.

A women and her millionaire husband visited their construction site. A worker who wore a helmet saw her and shouted, 'Hi, Emily! Remember me? We were friends in the secondary school.' On the way home, her millionaire husband teased her, 'Luckily you married me. Otherwise you will be the wife of a construction worker.' She answered, 'You should appreciate that you married me. Other wise, he will be the millionaire and not you.'

A little girl asked her father, 'How did the human race appear?' The father answered, 'Allah (SWT) made Adam and Eve and they had children and so was all mankind made.' Two days later the girl asked her mother the same question. The mother answered, 'Many years ago there were monkeys from which the human race evolved.' The confused girl returned to her father and said, 'Daddy how is it possible that you told me the human race was created by Allah (SWT), and mother said they developed from monkeys?' The father answered, 'Well, dear, it is very simple. I told you about my side of the family and your mother told you about hers.'

Frequently exchanging these remarks plants the seed for a bad relationship. It's like a broken egg - cannot be reversed.

NO OVERPOWERING:KEY TO HAPPINESS AND SUCCESS

Many relationships fail because one party tries to overpower another, or demands too much. People in love tend to think that love will conquer all and their spouses will change the bad habits after marriage. Actually, this is not the case. There is a Chinese saying which carries the meaning that "It is easier to reshape a mountain or a river than a person's character."
It is not easy to change. Thus, having high expectation on changing the spouse character will cause disappointment and unpleasantness.
It would be less painful to change ourselves and lower our expectations.

Once upon a time, there was a king who ruled a prosperous country. One day, he went for a trip to some distant areas of his country. When he was back to his palace, he complained that his feet were very painful, because it was the first time that he went for such a long trip, and the road that he went through was very rough and stony. He then ordered his people to cover every road of the entire country with leather.
Definitely, this would need thousands of cows' skin, and would cost a huge amount of money.

Then one of his wise servants dared himself to tell the king, "Why do you have to spend that unnecessary amount of money? Why don't you just cut a little piece of leather to cover your feet?"

The king was surprised, but he later agreed to his suggestion, to make a "shoe" for himself.

There is actually a valuable lesson of life in this story: to make this world a happy place to live, you better change yourself - your heart; and not the world.

BANK BALANCE A NICE MORAL STORY

Priya married Hitesh this day. At the end of the wedding party, Priya's mother gave her a newly opened bank saving passbook. With Rs.1000 deposit amount. Mother: 'Priya, take this passbook. Keep it as a record of your marriage life. When there's something happy and memorable happened in your new life, put some money in. Write down what it's about next to the line. The more memorable the event is, the more money you can put in. I've done the first one for you today. Do the others with Hitesh. When you look back after years, you can know how much happiness you've had.' Priya shared this with Hitesh when getting home. They both thought it was a great idea and were anxious to know when the second deposit can be made.

This was what they did after certain time:- 7 Feb: Rs.100, first birthday celebration for Hitesh after marriage- 20 Mar: Rs.200, vacation trip to Bali- 15 Apr: Rs.2000, Priya got pregnant- 1 Jun: Rs.1000, Hitesh got promoted..... and so on...

However, after years, they started fighting and arguing for trivial things. They didn't talk much. They regretted that they had married the most nasty people in the world.... no more love...

One day Priya talked to her Mother: 'Mom, we can't stand it anymore. We agree to divorce. I can't imagine how I decided to marry this guy!!!' Mother: 'Sure, girl, that's no big deal. Just do whatever you want if you really can't stand it. But before that, do one thing first. Remember the saving passbook I gave you on your wedding day? Take out all money and spend it first. You shouldn't keep any record of such a poor marriage.'

Priya thought it was true. So she went to the bank, waiting at the queue and planning to cancel the account. While she was waiting, she took a look at the passbook record. She looked, and looked, and looked. Then the memory of all the previous joy and happiness just came up her mind. Her eyes were then filled with tears. She left and went home.

When she was home, she handed the passbook to Hitesh, asked him to spend the money before getting divorce. The next day, Hitesh gave the passbook back to Priya. She found a new deposit of Rs.5000. And a line next to the record: 'This is the day I notice how much I've loved you thru out all these years. How much happiness you've brought me.' They hugged and cried, putting the passbook back to the safe.

"When you fall, in any way, Don't see the place where you fell, Instead see the place from where you slipped.Life is about correcting mistakes."

Well said. “A pessimist says, Erasers are for people who make mistakes. But an optimist says, Erasers are for people who are willing to correct their mistakes. This story is worth reading. Sometimes we spend time in asking who is responsible or whom to blame, whether in a relationship, in a job or with the people we know. By this way we miss out some warmth in relationships.

Marriage is not just coming together of two individuals. "A marriage is a life long commitment, where two people promise “to have and to hold, to love and to cherish”. The comfort in a marriage comes from caring for one another, and the happiness in marriage comes from knowing that the love you share will grow ever stronger as you go through life together. The blessings of marriage are the fulfillment of your cherished hopes and dreams as your lives unfold, and the realization of the meaning of that beautiful promise “To have and to hold.”

A successful marriage is like a good recipe whose main ingredients are love, patience, commitment, understanding, Tolerance, concern and togetherness. If you can include these aspects in your married life you can find happiness in your marriage. To create a happy marriage is rather like an art. No one can tell how it’s done, because it’s done by the heart. It takes patience to perfect it. Care to make it grow, time to give it value, and love to make it grow. A happy married life calls for constant commitment and concern for each other. It is better to understand a little, than to misunderstand a lot. Learn to understand first, and to be understood second. The roof of peace rests upon the walls of understanding. Understand your partner’s needs. Hold each other in the highest regard. Have a sense of humour as you meet life’s challenges.Honour one another when you are together or apart. Respect each other’s differences.

Enjoy the good times, and endure the storms. Make your dreams come true, together. Most of all, love one another. Don’t expect your partner/ spouse to be same like you (in qualities or mentality). Two people cannot walk by holding the same right hand in the same direction. Love your spouse the way he or she is, and not the way you want him or her to be. Then only you can be happy. Just as the five fingers of a hand are different, so are people around us. Everyone is different in habits, in behavior, and in so many other different ways. Tolerance helps in peaceful co-existence, harmony and understanding in life. No one must feel that what he or she says is the only correct thing and whatever others say is wrong. This is where tolerance comes in. No one has to be blamed. Instead if we Stop blaming others and take responsibility for every area of life and can look at life with kind perspective there would be much fewer problems in the world.

Tolerance does not mean that we accept bad behavior from others. It means that we accept others as they are. If you like to increase your happiness and prolong your life, forget the fault’s of your spouse or any other. Forget all fault finding and give a little thought to the cause which provoked it. Forget the shortcomings of your spouse/friends and only remember the good points which make you fond of them. Sometimes in life, there are enough times when we are disappointed, depressed and annoyed. We don't really have to go looking for them. We have a wonderful world that is full of beauty, light and promise. Why waste time in this world looking for the bad, disappointing or annoying things. I believe that we are happiest when we see and praise the good and try our best to forego the mistakes of our spouse. Nobody's perfect but we can find perfection in them in the way we see them.

It is necessary to understand the difficulties and be a helping hand to each other that brightens the relationship. I thought let me pick four soul stirring Hindi songs about the relation of “life partner”.
1. Tere mere sapane, ab yek rang hain, “GUIDE” (1965).
2. Tu jahan, jahan chalega mera saya saath hoga. MERA SAAYA. (1966). 3. Jab koi baat bigad jaaye jab koi mushkil pad jaaye, JURM 1990.
4. Aaye ho Meri Zindagi Mein ( Raja Hindustani). (1996).
Last but not least let me conclude by the quote of Barnett Brickner, which says that "Success in marriage does not come merely through finding the right mate, but through being the right mate." "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." Take off all your envies, jealousies, unforgiveness, selfishness, and fears. And you will find things are actually not as difficult as you think.

SOMETHING DEEP FROM YOUR HEART

An old man lived alone in Minnesota. He wanted to spade his potato garden, but it was very hard work.
His only son, who would have helped him, was in prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son and mentioned his situation.
Dear Son, I am feeling pretty bad because it looks like I won’t be able to plant my potato garden this year.
I hate to miss doing the garden, because your mother always loved planting time. I’m just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. If you were here, all my troubles would be over. I know you would dig the plot for me, if you weren’t in prison.
Love, Dad
………
Shortly, the old man received this telegram:
“For Heaven’s sake, Dad, don’t dig up the garden!! That’s where I buried the GUNS!” At 4a.m.
The next morning,
A dozen FBI agents and local police officers showed up and dug up theentire garden without finding any guns.
Confused, the old man wrote another note to his son telling him whathappened, and asked him what to do next.
His son’s reply was: “Go ahead and plant your potatoes, Dad. It’s thebest I could do for you from here.”
Moral of the Story
NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE IN THE WORLD,
IF YOU HAVE DECIDED TO DO SOMETHING DEEP FROM YOUR HEART, YOU CAN DO IT. IT IS THE THOUGHT THAT MATTERS NOT WHERE YOU ARE OR WHERE THE PERSON IS. WHERE THERE IS A WILL THERE IS A WAY.

INSPIRATIONAL TAMIL SONG LYRICS AND TRANSLATION

Friends most of us tend to believe that our talents will lead to success, while truth is that the success requires a combination of passion and perseverance.

Perseverance which means determination at working hard regardless of any odds or obstacles that may exist. In life we do not always have things going our way all the time, sometimes we falter or fail also at completing a task or getting what we want.It is by persevering and sticking to the task we eventually succeed. one needs courage to stick to one’s beliefs and be committed to hardworking order to succeed.

Sometimes Struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If we were to go through life without any obstacles, it would cripple us. Life is not easy for any of us. We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing, at whatever cost, must be attained”.

That is what this song says. This song is very inspiring from the movie Autograph. Thanks to Tamil cine industry especially to the lyrics writer Vijay Pa for this soul searching music. Hats off to all those behind this work. This is one of the best songs with much depth in meaning. This is the song which I love most. All the Words in this Song are So Motivational!

Who does not have struggle? why shedding tears in eyes?
Oru kanavu kandaal Atha thinammuyindraal
Have a dream and try everyday
Oru naalil nijamaaghumm
One day it will become true
Manamey ohh manamey nee maarividuu
Mind! O Mind! Change yourself
Maleiyoo athu paniyoo nee mothividuu
mountain or that it's a snow, you face it and fight

2nd stanza:

Vaalkai kavithai vaasippom, Vaanam alavu yosippomm, Let us read the lyrics of life, Imagine up to sky
Muyarchi enra ondrai maddum, Muchai pola swaasippom
We will take our effort as it is our breath of life
Lacham kanavu kannodu Lachiyangal nenjoduuMillions of dreams be in our eyes, Goals in our heart
Unnei vella yaarumilleu, uruthiyoda poraaduNo one can beat against you, Stay on your struggle with determination
Manithaa unn manatei kiri vithai podu maramaaghum
Tear up your heart and sow a seed; it will grow up to tree
Avamaanam paduthollvi ellamey uravaaghumm
Insult and utter defeats may all come along
Thollvi indri varalaaraa. Thukkam illei enn thozhaa
Is there a history with out defeat? No worries my friend?
Oru mudivirinthaal, Athil thelivirinthaal
If you have a determination and stick on to it
Antha vaanam vasamaaghumm
That Sky will be in your hand
Manamey ohh manamey nee maarividuu
Mind! O Mind! Change yourself
Maleiyoo athu paniyoo nee mothividuu
mountain or that it's a snow, you face it and fight

THE GRACE OF THE GOD

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him, and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming.Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements and to store his few possessions. But then one day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up to the sky.

The worst had happened; everything was lost. He was stunned with grief and anger. "God, how could you do this to me!" he cried. Early the next day, however, he was awakened by the sound of a ship that was approaching the island. It had come to rescue him. "How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers. "We saw your smoke signal," they replied.

MORAL:-

Having GOD in your boat does not mean that you will not face any storm,But it means that no storm can sink your boat. Keep faith in god.
It is easy to get discouraged when things are going badly. But we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain and suffering. Remember, next time your little hut is burning to the ground, it just may be a smoke signal that summons The Grace of God.

GOD forgives us.Not once, but countless times.Through all our disobedience he never tires, but loves us to the end untill at last we return,
in regret to him.

Little faith says "God Can do it", Big faith says "God will do it", But great faith says "It is done" Nothing is impossible when God is with U.
Last but bot least

" HAPPINESS IS IN THE SMALL THINGS
SUCCESS IS IN THE BIG THINGS
MEDITATION IS IN NOTHING
AND, GOD IS IN EVERYTHING".

MAY GOD BLESS YOU WITH THE FAITH AND COURAGE TO MEET THE CHALLENGE OF EACH NEW DAY.

MORAL STORY CORN SECRET

A reporter once asked a farmer to divulge the secret behind his corn, which won the state fair contest year after year. The farmer confessed it was all because he shared his seed with his neighbours.“Why do you share your best seed corn with your neighbours when you’re entering the same contest each year as well?” asked the reporter.“Why Sir?” said the farmer, “Didn’t you know that the wind picks up pollen from the ripening corn and swirls it from field to field? If my neighbours grew inferior corn, cross-pollination would steadily degrade the quality of my corn. If I am to grow good corn, I must help my neighbour do the same”And so it is with other situations in our lives. Those who want to be successful must help their neighbours be successful. Those who choose to live well must help others live well, for the value of a life is measured by the lives it touches. And those who choose to be happy must help others find happiness.

MORAL STORY TIME AND LOVE

Once upon a time all feelings and emotions went to a coastal island for a vacation. According to their nature, each was having a good time. Suddenly, a warning of an impending storm was announced and everyone was advised to evacuate the island.

The announcement caused sudden panic. All rushed to their boats. Even damaged boats were quickly repaired and commissioned for duty.
Yet, Love did not wish to flee quickly. There was so much to do. But as the clouds darkened, Love realised it was time to leave. Alas, there were no boats to spare. Love looked around with hope.

Just then Prosperity passed by in a luxurious boat. Love shouted, “Prosperity, could you please take me in your boat?”
“No,” replied Prosperity, “my boat is full of precious possessions, gold and silver. There is no place for you.”

A little later Vanity came by in a beautiful boat. Again Love shouted, “Could you help me, Vanity? I am stranded and need a lift. Please take me with you.”

Vanity responded haughtily, “No, I cannot take you with me. My boat will get soiled with your muddy feet.”

Sorrow passed by after some time. Again, Love asked for help. But it was to no avail. “No, I cannot take you with me. I am so sad. I want to be by myself.”

When Happiness passed by a few minutes later, Love again called for help. But Happiness was so happy that it did not look around, hardly concerned about anyone.

Love was growing restless and dejected. Just then somebody called out, “Come Love, I will take you with me.” Love did not know who was being so magnanimous, but jumped on to the boat, greatly relieved that she would reach a safe place.

On getting off the boat, Love met Knowledge. Puzzled, Love inquired, “Knowledge, do you know who so generously gave me a lift just when no one else wished to help?”

Knowledge smiled, “Oh, that was Time.”
“And why would Time stop to pick me and take me to safety?” Love wondered.
Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and replied, “Because only Time knows your true greatness and what you are capable of. Only Love can bring peace and great happiness in this world.”

“The important message is that when we are prosperous, we overlook love. When we feel important, we forget love. Even in happiness and sorrow we forget love. Only with time do we realize the importance of love. Why wait that long? Why not make love a part of your life today?”

TRIPLE FILTER TEST(SOCRATES):

Long time ago in ancient Greece, there live a man named Socrates, who was highly knowledgeable and an esteemed philosopher. One fine day, a fellow approached him. That person told Socrates that he has some information to tell him about his friend.

Before he could even start talking about his friend, Socrates told him to take a test known as the 'Triple Filter Test'.

The first test of the 'Triple Filer Test' was the filter of truth.
Socrates asked him if the information he had was the truth. The person said that he had just heard it on the way and was not sure if it was the absolute truth.

The second filter was that of goodness. He asked if the information was regarding anything good about his friend. The man said it was actually the opposite.

The third filter was that of usefulness. Socrates asked if the information was useful to him in any way. The man replied in the negative. Socrates then replied that when the information regarding a friend is not true, good or useful, then why it should be conveyed at all.

The moral of the story is that you may always participate in loose gossip, but when it comes to your friends ,it is just not worth it. You know your friends better than others. Therefore, you must avoid talking behind the back of your dearest friends. It only leads to strained relations and shows that you are not reliable or trustworthy as a friend.

INSPIRATIONAL STORY "GAUTUM BUDDHA AND BRAHMIN".

GAUTUM BUDDHA AND BRAHMIN.

GautumBuddha was sitting under a banyan tree. One day, a furious Brahmin came to him and started abusing him.

The Brahmin thought that GautumBuddha would reciprocate in the same manner, but to his utter surprise, there was not the slightest change in the expression on his face.

Now, the Brahmin became more furious. He hurled more and more abuses at Buddha. However, GautumBuddha was completely unmoved. Actually there was a look of compassion on his face. Ultimately the Brahmin was tired of abusing him. He asked, "I have been abusing you like anything, but why are you not angry at all ?"
GautumBuddha calmly replied, "My dear brother, I have not accepted a single abuse from you."
"But you heard all of them, didn't you?" The Brahmin argued half-heartedly.Buddha said, "I do not need the abuses, so why should I even hear them?"

Now the Brahmin was even more puzzled. He could not understand the calm reply from GautumBuddha.

Looking at his disturbed face, Buddha further explained, "All those abuses remain with you."

"It cannot be possible. I have hurled all of them at you," the Brahmin persisted.

Buddha calmly repeated his reply, "But I have not accepted even a single abuse from you ! Dear brother, suppose you give some coins to somebody, and if he does not accept them, with whom will those coins remain?"

The Brahmin replied, "If I have given the coins and not needed by someone, then naturally they would remain with me."

With a meaningful smile on his face, Buddha said, "Now you are right. The same has happened with your abuses. You came here and hurled abuses at me, but I have not accepted a single abuse from you. Hence, all those abuses remain with you only. So there is no reason to be angry with you."

The Brahmin remained speechless. He was ashamed of his behavior and begged for Buddha's forgiveness.

Lessong to Learn from This Story:
Inner calmness and peace are keys to contented life. My Advice is Live life as per your goals and ambition in life. You know who you are and what you want in life, So dont respond to what person said about you in anger. Control your anger with patience and calmness. That is biggest Strength of wise men.

THE NOBLE EIGHTFOLD PATH

When the Buddha gave his first sermon in the Deer Park, he began the 'Turning of the Dharma Wheel'. He chose the beautiful symbol of the wheel with its eight spokes to represent the Noble Eightfold Path.
The Buddha's teaching goes round and round like a great wheel that never stops, leading to the central point of the wheel, the only point which is fixed, Nirvana. The eight spokes on the wheel represent the eight parts of the Noble Eightfold Path. Just as every spoke is needed for the wheel to keep turning, we need to follow each step of the path.

1. Right View. The right way to think about life is to see the world through the eyes of the Buddha--with wisdom and compassion.

2. Right Thought. We are what we think. Clear and kind thoughts build good, strong characters.

3. Right Speech. By speaking kind and helpful words, we are respected and trusted by everyone.

4. Right Conduct. No matter what we say, others know us from the way we behave. Before we criticize others, we should first see what we do ourselves.

5. Right Livelihood. This means choosing a job that does not hurt others. The Buddha said, "Do not earn your living by harming others. Do not seek happiness by making others unhappy."

6. Right Effort. A worthwhile life means doing our best at all times and having good will toward others. This also means not wasting effort on things that harm ourselves and others.

7. Right Mindfulness. This means being aware of our thoughts, words, and deeds.

8. Right Concentration. Focus on one thought or object at a time. By doing this, we can be quiet and attain true peace of mind.

Following the Noble Eightfold Path can be compared to cultivating a garden, but in Buddhism one cultivates one's wisdom. The mind is the ground and thoughts are seeds. Deeds are ways one cares for the garden. Our faults are weeds. Pulling them out is like weeding a garden. The harvest is real and lasting happiness.

HOW TO BECOME A GOOD LISTENER

Who wants to become a good listener? Listening is a powerful tool of communication.

Listening and just hearing has great difference. All of us wants to have a companion who is a good listener and most of us aim to be one as well.

When you assess yourself now, what kind of listener are you? A deep careful listener, a bored listener, a selective listener, a defensive listener, an interrupting listener or an insensitive listener? Do you want to know some tips how to become a good listener? If so, here are some simple tips for you:

Follow the golden rule:

“Do unto others what you want others do unto you.” Put yourself on the position of the one who is speaking to you.

Make an effort to listen to the person who is speaking by giving your full attention to the speaker. Focus your mind to what he is trying to say and for the unspoken messages.

Watch for the non-verbal communication like tone of voice, hand gestures, facial expressions and other body movements. Listen for the real meaning and not just for the literal words.

Finish listening first before you begin to speak for you to be sure that you understand what is being said and think clearly what to react.

Ask questions if you are not sure, to understand what the speaker is trying to convey. Good listening requires practice and patience. But, if you have this skill you’ll appreciate life more.

ABOUT LAL BHADUR SHASTRY

LAL BAHADUR SHASTRI, the second prime minister of India, was a man of Highest Integrity. He was born on 2 October 1904 at Mughal sarai, near Banaras (Varanasi), Seven miles from Kashi in Uttar Pradesh. His father, a clerk in the Revenue office at Allahabad, died when he was hardly a year and a half old. His grandfather brought him up. Though his parents Sharada Prasad and Ramdulari Devi were Srivastavas, Shastri dropped his caste identity in his early years. Later he joined the Kashi Vidyapeeth and earned the epithet 'Shastri' by obtaining a degree on philosophy. In 1921, inspired by Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Gandhi; he cut short his studies to join India's freedom movement.

During the freedom movement he went to prision seven times and spent a total of nine years in the prision. The greatness of Lal Bahadur was that he maintained his self-respect 'even in prison. Once when Shastri was in jail, he received the news that his daughter fell ill. He requested the jailor to release him on parole to attend to his daughter. The jailor granted him 15 days parole. On reaching home, he learnt that his daughter had died. He performed the last rites of his daughter and told his family members that he was going back to the jail. When they reminded him that he was granted 15 days parole, he said, "That was to attend to my sick daughter. But when she is no more, there is no reason for me to take leave." After performing the obsequies he returned to his prison even before the expiry of the period.

A year passed his son was laid up with influenza this time Lal Bahadur was permitted unconditionally to go home for a week. But the fever did not come down in a week. Lal Bahadur got ready to go back to prison. The boy pleaded dumbly with his tearful eyes. In a weak voice he urged his father to stay. For a moment the father's mind was shaken. Tears rolled down from his eyes. But the next moment his decision was made. He bade good bye to all and left his home for prison. His son survived.

He Played a leading role in Indian freedom struggle; Became Parliamentary Secretary of Pandit Govind Vallabh Pant, the then chief minister of Uttar Pradesh; became the Minister of Police and Transport in Cabinet; appointed as the Railways and Transport Minister in the Central Cabinet; also held the portfolios of Transport & Communications, Commerce and Industry, and Home Ministry in the Central cabinet; As minister of Transport and communications after 1957 he started the shipbuilding yard at Visakhapatnam on the east coast in Andhra Pradesh. In 1952, Jawahar Lal Nehru appointed Lal Bahadur Shastri as the Railways and Transport Minister in the Central Cabinet. His contribution in providing more facilities to travelers in third class compartments cannot be forgotten. It was during his time that fans were provided in third class compartments. He reduced the vast disparity between the first class and third class in the Railways. He resigned from Railways in 1956, owning moral responsibility for a railway accident. Jawaharlal Nehru tried to persuade Shastriji but he refused to budge from his stand. By his action he set new standards of morality in public life.

He became the Home Minister in 1961, after the death of Govind Vallabh Pant. As home minister he strengthened the relationship between India and Nepal. He found out a solution to the language problem in Assam by introducing the use of English, Assamese and Bengal languages. He had rented a small house in Allahabad. Whenever he went to Allahabad, he used to stay in that house. After some time, the house owner had let it out to another family. When Shastri resigned as minister, he vacated the Government quarter and he did not have a place to live in. He did not have a house of his own, even when he was the Home Minister and people used to tease him the "Homeless Home Minister". In the 1962 India-China war Shastriji played a key role in maintaining internal security of the country.

After the death of Jawaharlal Nehru in 1964, Lal Bahadur Shastri was unanimously elected as the Prime Minister of India for a short period of 18 months. It was a difficult time and the country was facing huge challenges. There was food shortage in the country and on the security front Pakistan was creating problems. In 1965, Pakistan tried to take advantage of India's vulnerability and attacked India. Mild-mannered Lal Bahadur Shastri rose to the occasion and led the country ably. To enthuse soldiers and farmers he coined the slogan of "Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan". He reminded the nation that dependence on food imports undermined the country's self confidence and self respect and gave the nation a new slogan - ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan'. It means “Hail the soldier and Hail the farmer”. He gave the slogan Jai Jawan Jai Kisan to enthuse the soldiers to defend India and simultaneously cheering farmers to do their best to increase the production of food grains to reduce dependence on import .It became a very popular slogan.

By "Jai Jawan Jai Kissan" Shastri had not only defined India's "Core-Competence" but also has seen the Indians as human being while "Bottom of Pyramids" look at then as consumers alone. When under the PL 480 programme, America was going to send inferior quality of wheat to India, he opposed it. He asked the nation to go hungry once a day than accept poor quality food from US. Before making this announcement he asked his wife not to cook evening meals. He himself followed what he recommended.

He solved many difficult problems with courage and wisdom. He appeared very modest but was a man of steel. An important quality of shastri was his Non controversial nature. He was a genius in striking balances, handling difficult situations, and achieving compromises. He had the ability to take quick decisions. At the same time When Pakistan attacked India in 1965 he hit back. He showed his mettle during the Indo-Pak war, which broke out in 1965. He made it clear to Pakistan and the world that India would not take it lying down, if Pakistan continued to encourage cross-border terrorism. He gave full freedom to the Armed Forces to retaliate and the military bases in Lahore and Sialkot were attacked.

During those tense days, in his address to the nation from Red Fort on Independence Day, he said: "Hathiyaron ka jawab hathiyaron se denge. (Force will be met with force.) Hamara desh rahega to hamara tiranga rahega. (Our flag will survive only if our country does)". Before the war many people laughed at him for his softness but not after the war. After the war, Shastri's name was all over. He came out as a tough hero. Pakistan lost the war and Shastriji's leadership was praised all over the world.

A day before his first press conference after becoming PM one journalist asked Shastriji “what will be your message tomorrow”
He said: "I'll tell them that during my tenure there will not be any increase in food price and as PM of India I would ask members of the Planning Commission to have one more column in their charts to show me how many jobs will be created after spending thousands of crores of rupees."

He tackled several problems like food shortage, unemployment and poverty. To overcome the acute food shortage, he initially imported food grains and distributed them throughout the country. Later, he drew long-term plans to make the country self-sufficient in food production. On January 10, 1966 Lal Bahadur Shastri died of with heart attack on night.
More than thirty years of dedicated service were behind Lal Bahadur Shastri. In the course of this period, he came to be known as a man of great integrity and competence. Humble, tolerant, with great inner strength and resoluteness, he was a man of the people who understood their language. He was also a man of vision who led the country towards progress. Lal Bahadur Shastri was deeply influenced by the political teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. "Hard work is equal to prayer," he once said, in accents profoundly reminiscent of his Master. In the direct tradition of Mahatma Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri represented the best in Indian culture.

LAL BAHADUR SHASTRI never felt desire for money, a person who was down to earth, a real son of the soil, and stands for austerity, simplicity and consensus. His grounding was from the grassroots level. He was a practical man too. He strongly believed the laws of the land should be changed because the British formed them to rule over India. He did make an attempt by constituting the administrative reforms commission and made Morarji Desai its chairman. But after he died the idea was shelved.
Two qualities, which the leader of any nation must have, are devotion and efficiency. Lal Bahadur had both the qualities in a large measure. He would not swerve from his aim, come what may when the people of India Were fighting for freedom he brushed aside all thought of personal happiness and plunged into the freedom struggle. His daughter’s death, his son's illness, poverty - none of these made him swerve from his selection path. Even when he became a minister and later, the Prime Minister he was never attracted to a life of luxury and comfort.

The most favourite quote followed by the great the then prime minister is Guru Nanak's quotes in Gurmukhi.

When translated into English they mean -- Be simple and humble like the grass, because when a wild storm attacks, all the big trees get uprooted but the simple grass survives.Simple, but powerful.

Lal Bahadur Shastri was a simple man with great personality He is one and only Indian PM who was from humble family. He led his life with great simplicity and honesty and was a great source of inspiration for all the countrymen. Shastriji who represented a certain value system is more relevant today than before because a majority of us today have no value systems. He was a man concerned about the common man of India. Can these values return to this country? I don't think so.

Although shastri is not with us but his principal and simplicity always show the right way of life. We should follow such principals. Really he is one of my favorite great leader. His life was noble, loving and mainly in the highest sense!
Let us all pray for a noble soul, a true hero, a leader of masses, and a valiant soldier the Laal of the nation. Jai Jawan Jai Kisan!

A FAVOURITE BHAJAN OF GANDHIJI

October 2nd on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi, I am sharing Gandhiji’s most favourite Bhajan “Vaishnava Jan to tene kahiye je”. This really soothes the soul and purifies ones mind, certainly divine and has a social message for a harmonious living. It simply fills every one’s heart with pure joy.

One of the greatest Gujarati poet-saints, Narsi Mehta introduced philosophical poetry into the bhakti world of Gujarat. He composed about 740 songs. 'Vaishnava-janato', the prayer song popularized by Mahatma Gandhi, is a composition of Narsi Mehta's. This soul stirring poetry moves any theist.

Narsimha Mehta, describes how a Vishnav Jan (Not only Vaishnav every person) should behave, what is his qualities...and here comes Mahatma Gandhiji to show us that it is possible to be a Vaishnav. He had all the qualities of a “Vaishnav jan” which is there in this Bhajan.I bow with great respect to the poet Shri Narsimha Mehta, Mahatma Gandhiji.

BHAJAN LYRICS:

Vaishnav jan to tene kahiye je
PeeD paraayi jaaNe re
Par-dukhkhe upkaar kare toye
Man abhimaan na aaNe re (Vaishnava)

SakaL lok maan sahune vande
Nindaa na kare keni re
Vaach kaachh man nishchaL raakhe
Dhan-dhan janani teni re (Vaishnava)

Sam-drishti ne trishna tyaagi
Par-stree jene maat re
Jivha thaki asatya na bole
Par-dhan nav jhaalee haath re (Vaishnava)

Moh-maaya vyaape nahi jene
DriDh vairaagya jena man maan re
Ram naam shoon taaLi laagi SakaL
tirath tena tan maan re (Vaishnava)

VaN-lobhi ne kapaT-rahit chhe Kaam-krodh nivaarya re BhaNe Narsaiyyo tenun darshan karta KuL ekoter taarya re (Vaishnava).

The meaning is:
He and he alone is the man of God, Who knows the pain and misery of others, who tries to help others in distress, And who does not have pride in his mind.

He and he alone is the man of God, Who respects and salutes all, who does not talk ill of others, Who keeps his mind pure in words and action, And whose mother is considered blessed by all.

He and he alone is the man of God, Who views everybody as equal, Who considers other women as his mother, Who never tells lies all his life, And who never yearns for other's wealth.

He and he alone is the man of God, Who never has any attachments, who is strongly detached to worldly pleasures, who is addicted to remembering his God, And in whose mind are all the holy places of the world.

He and he alone is the man of God, Who has no greed and deceit in his mind, who has forsaken all pleasures and anger, The poet Narsi will like to see such a person by whose virtue, the entire family gets salvation.

Last but not least this lyrical composition was a favourite of Mahatma Gandhi and it is not hard to see why. The words describe not only a perfect Vaishnav but also what a perfect human being should be. It aims high and one who achieves such objectives would indeed be a perfect person. It is a perfect example of the high ideals and philosophy.
