A LETTER FROM POST OFFICE

We don't know who replied, but there is a beautiful soul working in the dead letter department who understands

LOVE!

Our 14-year-old dog Abbey died last month.
The day after she passed away my 4-year-old daughter Mandy was
crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey.
She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to
heaven, God would recognize her.
I told her that I thought that we could, so she dictated these words:

Dear God,
Will you please take care of my dog?
Abbey died yesterday and is with you in heaven.
I miss her very much.
I 'm happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick.
I hope you will play with her.
She likes to swim and play with balls.
I am sending a picture of her so when you see her you will know that she is my dog.
I really miss her.
Love, Mandy
We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey & Mandy,
addressed it to God/Heaven.
We put our return address on it.
Mandy pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she
said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven.
That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office.
A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet.
I told her that I thought He had.

Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch
addressed, 'To Mandy' in an unfamiliar hand.
Mandy opened it.
Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, 'When a Pet Dies.'
Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God
in its opened envelope.
On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey & Mandy and this note:
Dear Mandy,
Abbey arrived safely in heaven. Having the picture was a big help and I
recognized her right away.
Abbey isn't sick anymore.
Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart.
Abbey loved being your dog.
Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to
keep your picture in so I'm sending it back to you in this little book for
you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by.
Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you
write it and sending it to me.
What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you.
I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much.
By the way, I'm easy to find.
I am wherever there is love.
Love,
God

REMEMBERING LEGENDARY INDIAN CLASSICAL SINGER BHARAT RATNA MADURAI SHAUMUKHAVADIVU SUBBULAKSHMI ON HER BIRTH ANNIVERSARY

Image may contain: 1 person, text

Today is the 101th Birth Anniversary of the music legend, Bharat Ratna, M.S. Subbulakshmi. She was one of the finest musicians this planet has ever seen or experienced. The sheer magic of her voice brings back memories of my childhood. My Mother's most favourite classical singer. Her renditions of devotional hymns and Sahasranama Stotra enjoys a special place in the Hindu way of life. When she sings 'Suprabhatam', even God wouldn't want to hit the snooze button. The spirit was attributable to a total and unparalleled surrender to the lord. The fact that the Mahatma chose only her to sing ‘Vaishnava Janato’ on many occasions, and that Pandit Nehru called her ‘The Nightingale of India’ were only added jewels to an already resplendent crown.

MSL who has millions of fans and music lovers across the world. Today she is no more amidst us., but the rich legacy of music she has left behind for us is enough proof of her living amidst us in our hearts.she inhales music with every breath that she takes. There have been no compromises, no tactical manoeuvres, no conscious efforts to capture attention, no sacrifice of quality at the altar of showmanship and no stooping to thrill, only striving to elevate. She merely sings from the depths of her soul and the world sways to the magic of her music.

I reverentially pay rich musical tributes to this immortal singer M S Subbalakshmi on her Birth Anniversary. She was a jewel in the world of music. Her legacy continues to serve as a beacon for those in music & art.

"Proud Of India's Classical Music World.

A TRIBUTE TO INDIA'S DAUGHTER NEERAJA BHANOT ON HER BIRTH ANNIVERSARY 07-09-2017

Tribute to India's Daughter Neerja Bhanot Many of us just learnt about a great sacrifice that was made by young 22 year old Neerja Bhanot, the brave young woman who lost her life while trying to save many others on board the Pan Am Flight 73 on its way from Mumbai to New York via Karachi and Frankfurt was hijacked on September 5, 1986.

According to Mrs. Malti Krishnaswamy and other eyewitnesses, Neerja was caught by the leader of the terrorists and shot point blank. In the dead body I saw bullets had hit her in the abdomen, on the shoulder near the neck and in the arm. When she opened the emergency exit, she could have herself been the first to slide down the chute. But she was the “captain”, who believed that she had to be the last person to quit – alive or dead.

Mr. Keith D. Smith saying: “The courageous manner in which she lived was very evident in the courageous manner in which she died. Shielding 3 small children from danger was a bold, daring and brave act that so dignified Neerja’s personality. She was a true global citizen and did not discriminate between Indians and Americans.

Last but not least she proved that Humanity is the Highest religion and dont be judgmental while helping others. My heartfelt tribute to her.

04-07-2017 REMEMBERING SWAMI VIVEKANANDA ON HIS DEATH ANNIVERSARY

Image may contain: 1 person, text
swami Vivekananda, the great philosopher saint, spiritual genius and patriot of modern India died on 4 July 1902 .He was not even 40 when he died, but in that short span he changed the way Hindu philosophy and Hinduism was perceived both in India and outside.

Swami Vivekananda’s thoughts have influenced and inspired me throughout my life. On his death anniversary saying his thoughts ideals remain an inspiration for everyone devoted to serving the country.

"I bow to Swami Vivekananda on his Death Day. His thoughts & ideals remain an inspiration for everyone devoted to serving our nation," Swami Vivekananda conquered the entire world with his life & message. Best tribute to him would be to imbibe his ideals in our daily lives.

"Swami Vivekananda's words are not ordinary words of inspiration. Each word of his utterances is potent with a latent power. I tried my best to bring out the gist of his sayings. There are many quotes and I made a small attempt to forward a few of his quotes and utterances.

Every quote and utterances of swami Vivekananda has a great power. In many speeches he used to oft quote one of the sayings of his mother :

"Remain pure all your life; guard your own honor and never transgress the honor of others. Be very tranquil, but when necessary, harden your heart.

A mere reading of the ideas presented here won't do. The ideas must be assimilated and should be put in to practice. understand the quotes in their spirit and apply to work in the light.
Especially I am Thanking my Amma for teaching his ideals and values.

HAPPY DOCTOR'S DAY

A Doctor"

The life of a doctor always holds the unique destiny.Giving a hand to the weak,Giving a hug to the victims,Giving a heart to warm the soul of every sufferer,Giving a hope to those who are about to leave the world. The smile of a patience ;Paints our lives into beautiful mosaic, & Makes our hearts beat...
One smile, but irreplaceable.
Today I am dedicating this post to all Doctors who are good in their profession and especially to my favourite Doctor Mrs. Gayathri Devi.Other doctors simply treat their patients with medicines but forget to do the most important thing which you do – help them to move on with their lives with motivating words and inspirational thoughts. You have been my therapist, supporter, friend, well wisher..
More than a good doctor, I value the fact that you were a good listener that which made you a great human being. Thanks for teaching me the difference between Fact and Faith: Fact is when any ordinary doctor diagnoses illness in a report. Faith is when good doctors like you give their patients the strength to recover. If every doctor strives to be as caring and generous as you, the world would be filled with smiles and laughter instead of pain and sorrow. Thanks for everything doctor.I found more healing in your inspirational words, than I did in those medicines. Thanks for adding a human touch to my treatment.
Good doctors understand responsibility better than privilege and practice accountability better than business. Thanks for being one such doctor.

DEDICATING THIS POST TO ALL GOOD DOCTORS AND TO MY FAVOURITE DOCTOR MRS.GAYATHRI DEVI

A LOVELY MESSAGE -MILLION DOLLAR MEANING

Image may contain: text
Whether you have a Mercedes, a BMW or any other car, the road remains the same.
Whether you travel economy class or business, your destination doesn't change.

Whether you have a Titan or a Rolex, the time is the same.

Whether you have Apple OR Samsung , people who call you remains the same.
There is nothing wrong in dreaming of a luxurious life.
What needs to be taken care of is to not let the NEED become your GREED.
Because needs can always be met; but greed can never be fulfilled.
Short lines with a million dollar meaning :- The life that you are living now, is also a dream of millions !!...

EDUCATION WITH VALUES

Image may contain: text
A University professor wrote an expressive message to his students at the doctorate, masters and bachelors levels and placed it at the entrance in a university in South Africa.

And this is the message;

*"Collapsing any nation does not require use of atomic bombs or the use of long range missiles. It only requires lowering the quality of education and allowing cheating in the examinations by the students".*

Image may contain: text

The patient dies in the hands of such doctors
And the buildings collapse in the hands of such engineers
And the money is lost in the hands of such accountants
And humanity dies in the hands of such religious scholars
And justice is lost in the hands of such judges...
*"The collapse of education is the collapse of the nation"*

07 TH MAY REMEMBERING NATIONAL ANTHEM WRITER RABINDRANATH TAGORE ON HIS BIRTH ANNIVERSARY

Image may contain: 1 person, beard and text
Rabindranath Tagore is best known as a poet but he was a man of many talents. On the one hand, he was the first Indian to win a Nobel for literature and on the other, a novelist who wrote and composed an entire genre of songs. He was a philosopher and educationist who established a university that challenged conventional education.Tagore was a painter who played an important role in modernising Bengali art. And he was a nationalist who gave up his knighthood to protest British policies in colonial India after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
He was a poet, a painter, a patriot, a philosopher, a novelist, an educationist, singer, story writer, essayist, critic, constructive worker and what not. But it is mainly as a poet that Tagore is known to us. His subtle artistic sense, his wisdom, his wide experience of life and deep understanding of human character as reflected through his novels and short stories, and the uncommon beauty of his language and style, soon established him as the greatest poet and writer, not only of Bengal, but of the whole of India. His important works are “Geetanjali”, “Rabindra Sangeet”, “Amar Shonar Bangla”, “Ghare-Baire”, etc. The National Anthem of India, “Jana Gana Mana”, was composed by him.
The great son of India, the voice of humanity, a great lover of nature is no more with us. But his ideas and ideals will continue to inspire and encourage the whole humanity.
Where the Mind is full of service,
Where the Heart is full of gratitude,
Where the Soul swings for the Lord,
Where the hands are meant to help,
Where the legs move right direction,
Where the tongue speaks love,
Where the Attitude is humane,
Where the Rich are kind,
Where the Law is just,
Where the Justice is for the poor,
Where the Eyes can see good
Where there is no Corruption Crime..Discrimination & Violence
Wake me up to that world my Lord....

YOU ARE UNIQUE A GOOD STORY

Image may contain: 1 person, text

A little boy went to his old grandpa and asked, "What's the value of life?"The grandpa gave him one stone and said, "Find out the value of this stone, but don't sell it."The boy took the stone to an Orange Seller and asked him what its cost would be.The Orange Seller saw the shiny stone and said, "You can take 12 oranges and give me the stone."
The boy apologized and said that the grandpa has asked him not to sell it.He went ahead and found a vegetable seller.

"What could be the value of this stone?" he asked the vegetable seller. The seller saw the shiny stone and said, "Take one sack of potatoes and give me the stone."
The boy again apologized and said he can't sell it.

Further ahead, he went into a jewellery shop and asked the value of the stone. The jeweler saw the stone under a lens and said, "I'll give you 1 million for this stone."When the boy shook his head, the jeweler said, "Alright, alright, take 2 24karat gold necklaces, but give me the stone."
The boy explained that he can't sell the stone.Further ahead, the boy saw a precious stone's shop and asked the seller the value of this stone. When the precious stone's seller saw the big ruby, he lay down a red cloth and put the ruby on it.Then he walked in circles around the ruby and bent down and touched his head in front of the ruby. "From where did you bring this priceless ruby from?" he asked.
"Even if I sell the whole world, and my life, I won't be able to purchase this priceless stone."Stunned and confused, the boy returned to the grandpa and told him what had happened."Now tell me what is the value of life, grandpa?"

Grandpa said,"The answers you got from the Orange Seller, the Vegetable Seller, the Jeweler & the Precious Stone's Seller explain the value of our life...
You may be a precious stone, even priceless, but, people will value you based on their intellectual status, their level of information, their belief in you, their motive behind entertaining you, their ambition, their risk taking ability & ultimately their calibre.

So don't fear, you will surely find someone who will discern your true value."
*Respect yourself.*
*Don't think yourself cheap.*
*You are rare, Unique, Original and the only one of your kind.*
*You are a masterpiece!
*No one can Replace you.*

RARE LESSON MUST READ AND LEARN SOMETHING

Image may contain: text
The Boss was retiring. Everyone had tears in their eyes on the day of his farewell. One of the employees said, “Sir, there is one thing we want to learn from you. You worked here for so many years. What to speak about scolding your subordinates, we have never seen you even shouting at them. We have scolded our subordinates on the pressure of work or for other reasons. We want to know about the seed of your patience.”
The Boss said, “Then listen to this incident of my childhood. My father was working as a lower level employee in an office. He was a very nice person. He was respected very much in our family. It happened one day. I was studying in the 4th standard. I had gone to the office of my father for some reason. I saw that my father was not at his seat. I waited outside. After some time, the door of the Boss opened. My father came out of the door. I saw the fair face of my father had turned red. He went straight to a corner and stood there looking outside through a window there. He had not seen me. I went to him and called him slowly. He was taken by surprise and turned back to look at me. I saw a stream of tears flowing down his eyes. He was slightly disturbed seeing me. He did not find time to wipe out his tears. Can my father cry anytime? He was the strongest man in the world for me. It was out of my imagination that someone could hurt him. I ran straight to the room of the Boss. Father was calling me from behind. But, listening to nothing, I went inside and asked the Boss, “Why did you make my father cry?” The Boss was also surprised.
Thereafter, my father tried to make me understand. But, that day I had decided to take revenge on the Boss. I decided that day that I will study well and become a Boss one day, but I will not make my subordinates cry anytime. Because, they are not only the employees of my office, they are also respected and dear father or brother or somebody of their families and their surroundings. People say it is not possible to control others without scolding them. I say, what for love is there then?”

A TALE FROM SRIMAD BHAGAVATHAM

No automatic alt text available.
There was this saint who saw a scorpion floundering around in the water. He decided to save it by stretching out his finger, but the scorpion stung him. The man still tried to get the scorpion out of the water, but the scorpion stung him again.A man nearby told him to stop saving the scorpion that kept stinging him.The sadhu replied: "My dear child, the scorpion is not stinging me out of malice or evil intent. Just as it is the water's nature to make me wet, so it is the scorpion's nature to sting. The scorpion doesn't realise that I am carrying it to safety. That is a level of conscious comprehension greater than what his brain can achieve. But, just as it is the scorpion's nature to sting, so it is my nature to save. Just as he is not leaving his nature, why should I leave my nature? Why should I let a small scorpion rob me of the divine nature which I have cultivated through years.
Living in this world, disagreements are normal, in fact, natural. You will meet people ranging from scorpions to saints, thankful to thankless, from weak to wild, and so forth. In our lives we encounter people who harm us, insult us, plot against us, whose actions seem calculated to thwart the successful achievement of our goals. Sometimes these are obvious acts, such as a co-worker who continually steals our ideas or speaks badly of us to our boss. Sometimes these acts are subtle - a friend, relative or colleague who unexpectedly betrays us or who we find has been surreptitiously speaking negatively about us behind our back.
Most of the time we changed ourselves due to the nature and attitude of the other person and loose our own unique identity. But we must not let their actions or their ignorance deprive us.We must not allow ourselves to be lowered by their ignorance, their habits or their greed. The darkness in their heart should not be allowed to penetrate into the lightness of our hearts. When in any conflict, if we retain our goodness, we will emerge as a winner. If you stoop down to their level, treating them the way they treated you, that invariably means they have won, that means you have become like them.
In our lives, we will encounter people who may harm us intentionally or unintentionally. We should never let our actions, thoughts and words to be affected by the negativity in others. We should continue to perform our duty with love and honesty, even if others do not reciprocate our righteous actions. Whether you are a sage or a scorpion, it is a matter of choice, an independent choice. Don’t give up loving. Don’t give up your goodness. Even if people around you sting.Be honest, loyal and faithful and rest leave to God.

CELEBRATING 67 YEARS OF INDIAN NATIONAL ANTHEM

24TH January 1950,”Jana Gana Mana” was officially declared as India’s National Anthem.

The National Anthem reminds me of assembly in school days and the yell of “Jai Hind!” after the singing of National Anthem. When I hear the national anthem, I'm overwhelmed as it fills me with a sense of pride.I get goosebumps every time I hear national anthem and it brings tears in my eyes thinking of our freedom fighters, both the known faces and those countless unknown faces.

There are certain rules that prescribed in our constitution to sing National Anthem.

1.    It should get over in a stipulated time frame over apprx 52 sec.

2.   You should stand up, with your shoulders held straight, and head held high, showing your utmost respect for the nation.

3.    Whenever the Anthem is sung or played, the audience shall stand to attention.

4.   However, when in the course of a news reel or documentary the Anthem is played as a part of the film, it is not expected of the audience to stand as standing is bound to interrupt the exhibition of the film and would create disorder and confusion rather than add to the dignity of the Anthem.

5. As in the case of the flying of the National Flag, it has been left to the good sense of the people not to indulge in indiscriminate singing or playing of the Anthem.

6. A short version consisting of the first and last lines of the National Anthem is also played on certain occasions Approx 20 sec. Usually the short version of the Anthem shall be played when drinking toasts in Messes.

7. Though some peoples confuse that it can't be sung after sunset and so, i believe like a true patriot you can sing it any time, with full respect and proud in your heart.

Now a days a lot of controversies about National Anthem. So many questions, that why should one have to follow the rules while singing National Anthem. I dont  have time to controversy about the topic.

The rules are just another way of showing respect towards your country. But I wish to say that Patriotism means its a strong feeling and sense of pride towards our country, what you yourselves feel inside is true patriotism. As a school child, the law never forced me to stand up when my teacher entered the classroom. The law doesn’t force us to touch our elders’ feet to show our respect. The law never forced to stand when a seniors or elders enters a room. Neither does the law force us to breathe or bathe or love or laugh. But we do it all, regardless, because respect comes from within and it’s a noble feeling, irrespective of whether it is an emotional expression or a biological need. This analogy might not be entirely perfect for the topic at hand, but the point is that we do a lot of things, happily, that the law does not force us to.Showing respect to the National Anthem is one of those.

Whether the law makes it compulsory or not is beside the point. I have seen even foreigners stand up when the Indian national anthem is played. It’s not about the law, folks, as some lawyers would have us believe: it’s about the sentiment, which a simple act like merely standing up when the national anthem is being played, that shows your respect for the motherland and for the thousands of martyrs who laid their lives for the very democracy.

WHAT IS SPIRITUAL MATURITY?

Image may contain: text

Spiritual Maturity is
1.When you stop trying to change others, instead focus on changing yourself.
2. When you *accept people as they are.*
3. When you *understand everyone is right in their own perspective.*
4. When you *learn to "let go".*
5. When you are able to *drop "expectations" from a relationship and give for the sake of giving.*
6. When you *understand whatever you do, you do for your own peace.*
7. When you *stop proving to the world, how intelligent you are.*
8. When you *don't seek approval from others.*
9. When you *stop comparing with others.*
10. When you *are at peace with yourself.*
11. When you *are able to differentiate between "need" and "want" and are able to let go of your wants.*
AND last but most meaningful !*
12. You gain Spiritual Maturity when you *stop attaching "happiness" to material things !!*
Being on a spiritual path does not prevent you from facing times of darkness. But it teaches you how to use the darkness as a tool to grow.Spirituality is not a religion, being spiritual just means you are in touch with your own divine self. It does not come from religion. It comes from your soul. The spiritual password is the unique connection to the wisdom of our hearts.
