Once, a man asked Buddha,
“What is the biggest mistake we make in life?”Buddha looked at him with calm eyes and replied“The biggest mistake is that you think you have time.”
The man fell silent.
Buddha continued,
“Life is slipping through your fingers, moment by moment. You wait for the right time to be kind, the perfect day to forgive, the next chance to love —but time waits for no one.”
He pointed to the flowing water and said,
“Look at this river. You cannot step into the same river twice.Every moment is new. Every breath is a miracle.Yet you waste it chasing what never truly mattered.”
The man lowered his head, feeling the truth settle deep within him.Buddha smiled gently and said,“Do not live as if you have endless tomorrows.Live so fully that even if tomorrow never comes, nothing remains unsaid, nothing unloved, nothing undone.”
The sun began to set behind the hills, painting the sky in gold.
“Time is not short,” Buddha whispered,
“but you are late to realize that the present is all you ever had.”
He stood up and walked away slowly, his shadow merging with the fading light.
And in that silence, the man finally understood:
Enlightenment is not about eternity…
it is about this moment.
Every breath is borrowed.Use it to build peace, not regret.Use it to live, not to wait
MORAL
⏳ Life doesn’t end because time runs out.
It ends because we keep postponing what truly matters.
Say the words.Choose kindness.
Forgive sooner.Love deeply.
Live now — because later is never guaranteed.
