SONG FOR MY PARENTS

Yeh To Sach Hai Ki Bhagwan Hai,
It is true that there is GOD.
Hai Magar Phir Bhi Anjaan Hai,
But He is still unknown to us.
Dharti Pe Roop Maa Baap Ka,
On this earth, the form of mothers and fathers..
Us Vidhaata Ki Pehchaan Hai...
is a symbol of that GOD.

Janmdaata Hai Jo, Naam Jinse Mila,
The one who gave us birth, gave us our name…
Thamkar Jinki Ungli Hai Bachpan Chala,
whose fingers we held as we went though our childhood...
Kaandhe Par Baithke, Jinke Dekha Jahaan,
on whose shoulders we sat as we looked at the world…
Gyan Jinse Mila, Kya Bura Kya Bhala,
from whom we got knowledge, what is right and what is wrong…
Itne Upkaar Hain Kya Kahen,
There are so many favors, that what do we say.
Yeh Bataana Na Aasaan Hai,
that it is not easy to tell.
Dharti Pe Roop Maa Baap Ka,
Us Vidhaata Ki Pehchaan Hai...

Janam Deti Hai Jo, Maa Jise Jag Kahe,
The one who gives us birth, the one that the world calls Mother.
Apni Santaan Mein, Pran Jiske Rahe,
In whose children, her life lives.
Loriyan Hothon Par, Sapne Bunti Nazar,
The lullabies are on her lips and her eyes spin dreams.
Neend Jo Vaar De, Hanske Har Dukh Sahe,
The one who sacrifices her sleep, and tolerates every sorrow with laughter.
Mamta Ke Roop Mein Hai Prabhu,
In this form of mother’s love, is GOD.
Aapse Paaya Vardaan Hai,
This is a blessing that we got from you.
Dharti Pe Roop Maa Baap Ka,
Us Vidhaata Ki Pehchaan Hai...

Aapke Khwab Hum, Aaj Hokar Jawaan,
We are your dreams. After becoming adult…
Us Param Shakti Se Karte Hain Prarthna,
We pray to that Forever Force.
Unki Chhaya Rahe, Rehti Duniya Talak,
That we stay their shadow until this world exists.
Ek Pal Reh Sake Hum Na Jinke Bina,
Those without whom we cannot live for a moment.
Aap Dono Salaamat Rahe,
Both of you stay well…
Sabke Dil Mein Yeh Armaan Hai,
This is the wish in every heart.
Dharti Pe Roop Maa Baap Ka,
Us Vidhaata Ki Pehchaan Hai,
